Costa Blanca 'perfect location' for holiday home
Wednesday January 16th , 2008

A British couple have described how they discovered their ideal holiday property in Alicante province on the Costa Blanca.
In an interview with Homes Worldwide, Ian and Louise Friend said that the small coastal town of Torre de la Horadada is a "fabulous" location with "gorgeous beaches" and an unspoilt atmosphere, which benefits from a lack of high-rise development and the presence of old buildings, such as its church.
Having purchased a holiday home in the area with the help of Ian's parents, the Somerset couple can now enjoy the delights of Spain with all the family, including their two young children, the website reports.
Speaking about the benefits of owning a property on the Costa Blanca, Ms Friend said: "I love the fact you can enjoy eating and drinking out of doors because the climate allows it.
"The Spanish people are so warm and friendly."
She added that the couple plan to rent their property to retirees during the winter months, as older people like to enjoy Alicante while the temperature is slightly cooler.
Another couple recently interviewed by Homes Worldwide about moving to the southern costas, Andy Chapell and Pauline Elkin, said that making an effort to learn the language can help prospective buyers to integrate themselves with the local Spanish people.
