Purchasing a holiday home in Cyprus is a quick and simple procedure, according to a couple from the UK.
Marilyn and Hamish Lowdon from Aberdeenshire bought their property near Paphos which features a large balcony and shared communal area with a pool for £172,000 in 2005.
Speaking to the Sunday Mail, they explained that the legal paperwork and other aspects of the process involved in the transaction were completely hassle-free.
The couple lived in the country during the 1960s and had dreamed of returning there ever since.
Meanwhile, the Cyprus Tourism Organisation has recently shifted the emphasis of its strategy to attract the higher end of the luxury holiday market, to capitalise on its reputation for being more expensive than its Greek island counterparts
"Cyprus has long realised that attracting more affluent travellers, who place importance on quality of product rather than price, is key to bumping up numbers," states Travel Weekly.
