Cyprus' residents speak up
Tuesday March 18th , 2008

People living in Cyprus have had the chance to speak about their memories of the country since moving from abroad.
Radio Napa, the Mediterranean nation's broadcaster, called on residents to get in touch to let listeners know about the various stories that have emerged throughout the years.
The Famagusta Gazette reports that a number of people living on the island spoke about how the property market has developed over time.
One gentleman contacted the station saying that, in 1993, £9,000 seemed a bit "steep" for an old house with land. Similar properties would cost a lot more today.
Over the last decade, a number of Britons have decided that Cyprus is the place for them and have purchased property in the country. This demand has at times been partly responsible for prices going up.
Earlier this month, the same newspaper indicated that the European Union (EU) has found Cypriots feel positive about entering the EU following the country's inception four years ago.
