Expats praise transport links to Cyprus

Expatriates living in Cyprus have praised the good transport links to the island from the UK.

Barry and Dee Lill, a retired couple who now live in the country permanently, said the high frequency of flights made Britain easily accessible.

Speaking to Homes Worldwide, they stated that this meant their family back at home could come out and visit them on a regular basis.

Mr Lill commented: "Initially, we did find it hard to leave, but now find we spend much more quality time with our children and our own parents."

He added that the journey time between Cyprus and the UK - four and a half hours - meant that they were still "very close" to their relatives.

The comments come after budget airline Monarch announced that it would launch new services to Cyprus later this year.

Flights to Larnaca from both London Gatwick and Manchester will begin operating this summer.
