More flights to Cyprus planned

Tourists from mainland Europe are expected to flock into Cyprus when more flights are added on April 1st, a possible boon to people with property in Cyprus.

Scheduled flights will rise from the current 15 a week to 60 a week, a 300 per cent rise, and will connect to Istanbul and Antalya as well as major German cities such as Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Cologne, among others, reports the Cyprus Observer.

Minister of economy and tourism, Erdogan Sanlidag said at an agreement for the increase in flights will help Cyprus to overcome the obstacles relating to accessibility.

The flights should bring more wealth into the country, and provide possible advantages for those with property on the island.

This comes as the Cypriot government has announced the offer of financial incentives and increased marketing budgets for the tourist industry in an attempt to support it through the current economic crisis
