Retired expats praise Cyprus

Two British retirees have spoken highly of the quality of life they are now enjoying in Cyprus.

According to Barry and Dee Lill, they are able to take part in far more outdoor activities than they could in the UK, reports Homes Worldwide.

This is because the Mediterranean island offers an excellent climate, making it an ideal place to hold barbecues and play golf.

Mr Lill said he indulges his passion for the sport about four times a week now that he lives in a sunny environment.

He commented: "I could play every day if Dee would let me."

Mrs Lill added that the couple's social life has improved dramatically since they arrived on the island four years ago.

She stated: "We've both made some very good friends."

This comes after expat Andy Leck told the Financial Times that Cyprus is a very affordable place to live.

Speaking to the newspaper, he said his tax burden is far lower than in the UK, as he is charged less on his pension income.
