High-end property in Italy "buoyant"

High-end property in Italy will prove popular in the coming 12 months, according to one commentator.

Linda Travella of Casa Travella, an expert in Italian property sales and purchases, explains that such properties will be the most "buoyant" part of the market in 2009.

"Amidst a very turbulent economy, it is interesting to note that in general the high end of the property market continues to do well," she states.

"Clients know that January is a good time to buy in normal economic conditions as not many people view and vendors are more likely to accept offers."

Ms Travella adds that people see high-end properties as an opportunity to invest funds in something stable rather than leaving them in banks with a low interest rate.

Paul Collins, property editor of buyassociation.co.uk, recently stated that people are now focusing on lifestyle issues rather than investment ones when it comes to purchasing property abroad.
