New golf courses 'will boost property in Cyprus'

Fourteen new golf courses planned for Cyprus could boost the whole island's property market, according to one expert.

Paul Collins, property editor of BuyAssociation.co.uk, states that new facilities, such as golf courses, tend to "give a bit of fresh impetus to the property market", adding that golf has always been a popular reason for people to head to Cyprus.

As Cyprus is "not a massive island" and easy to get around, the new courses are likely to have a widespread effect as many areas will be near enough to the courses to reap the benefits, he continues.

"Certainly with a place like Cyprus, as it is so easy to get around, you can have a property in one place and still be able to get to the attractions pretty simply around the rest of the island," Mr Collins concludes.

Figures from the Cyprus Tourist Organisation, released in January this year, highlight that 1.3 million Britons visit the nation each year.
