An artificial island is being built off the town of Limassol in Cyprus, it has been reported.
The island is being constructed as part of the redevelopment of the town's marina, which is one of four across the country seeing investment.
It will provide berths for 600 vessels, along with entertainment facilities and apartments.
Martin Pearce, sales director at Aristo Developers, said: "The size of these projects is quite amazing.
"Other popular towns such as Paphos and Ayia Napa will all have similar features and will provide better accessibility for skippers wanting to explore the island."
Construction in Limassol will begin in early 2009 and is expected to be completed by 2013.
Meanwhile, Cyprus has been named as one of the cheapest places to retire abroad.
According to travel website shelteroffshore.com, British people approaching retirement age should consider moving to the island for its cheap property prices, 300 sunny days every year and excellent standard of living.
