Overseas buyers 'must be diligent'
Monday September 10th , 2007

Overseas property investors have been advised to use the same care and attention they would use in the UK.
Jackson International stated that since many people are buying abroad for a lifestyle, they tended to be swayed by their emotions instead of common sense.
This is despite the large amounts of money at stake with a property investment.
Bill Jackson, director of the firm, commented: Most people go abroad for the sunshine and the wine.
Their heart goes to their brain and they go ahead because it is such a lovely area.
He recommended that people be diligent with various issues, such as ensuring that their property is structurally sound.
Mr Jackson stated that the quality of the construction was a big issue to consider, as a brand new property was not necessarily strong and well-built.
According to official figures, about 250,000 properties abroad are owned by British investors.
