Tourists 'must be made aware' of visa requirements

Holidaymakers and overseas property owners should be made aware of visa requirements affecting their travel plans, an insurance firm suggests.
InsureandGo believes travel agents and airlines should inform people of any visa requirements that need to be met to avoid unfortunate circumstances once they reach the airport.
Perry Wilson, InsureandGo founder, says that some policies only apply to certain parts of the world and may not cover exempt nations.
He adds that the government should also do more to alert travellers of insurance and visa limitations.
Those people refused entry to foreign countries are often unable to claim back their travel insurance once they return home.
Concern over visa restrictions follows new procedures implemented by the US government.
New measures allow nationals of some countries to travel to the US for tourism or business for 90 days without obtaining a visa.
