With more than two million tourists expected to venture abroad this Easter weekend, travel agent Thomas Cook is offering a number of tips.
The company expects a steep rise in people renting property in Turkey, the Canary Islands and other sunny destinations this weekend.
With many holidaymakers going abroad on Good Friday or Saturday, it suggests travellers should leave an extra two hours before their flights in a bid to avoid traffic congestion.
Passengers are also advised to change their currency into euros before they reach the airport, rather than racing against time when they get there.
Finally, the travel firm suggests that children can be entertained by providing them with games on the way to the airport and on board the plane.
Operating a fleet of 43 aeroplanes, Thomas Cook also runs more than 800 high street travel stores.
