Alps attract younger property buyers

Younger property buyers are increasingly choosing to purchase houses in the Alps, according to a property specialist.

Paul Collins of the BuyAssociation website said the mountain range is proving to be popular because it is different to the norm and offers its own unique benefits.

For example, he stated that budget airlines offer passage to the region all year round, which makes it "nice and easy" to get to at any time.

Mr Collins added that the Alps are also blessed with good weather during the summer months, which means it is consistently popular with leisure travellers.

He commented: ""The thing that's often underestimated about alpine properties is just how good the weather is in the summer."

The region was described as a "fantastic" location that offers clean air, beautiful fresh water lakes and sunshine.

Mr Collins' comments come shortly after HiFX reported that properties in Italian ski resorts are becoming more and more popular with foreign property buyers.
