Calabria is 'Italy's best emerging market'

The Calabria province has become the best emerging market in Italy, according to industry experts.

Analysts at the International Property Investment Network (IPIN) believe the region offers numerous attractions for foreign property buyers.

Growing tourism was cited as one of its main attributes, as the increase in demand for flights to Calabria has led to airlines introducing new services.

Furthermore, property prices are still relatively low and the unspoiled nature of the region means investors have their pick of desirable locations to choose from.

This has prompted IPIN to predict that Calabria will become one of the most popular investment markets in the Mediterranean.

However, it insisted that the region will remain a physically attractive and unspoiled location for years to come.

Bernardo Retana, director of IPIN, commented: "Calabria will retain its natural beauty and high demand for property, thanks to Italy's strict building controls in this beautiful region."

This comes after British newspaper the Telegraph stated that Calabria was becoming increasingly fashionable among foreign property buyers, while remaining affordable.
