Italy 'has strong tourist appeal'

Italy's historical and cultural sites make the country a viable holiday location for the whole year, an expert has said.

Property writer Michael Peterson highlighted the all-year-round appeal of Italy to tourists, partly as a result of attractions such as the Trevi Fountain and the Vatican museums.

He also highlighted the affordability of the country, in terms of both travel and accommodation, issues that would need to be considered by prospective property investors.

Mr Peterson said: "If you choose a villa or a rental home, you can only expect the best in accommodations as well as beautiful hotels with different amenities for your stay."

The appeal of Italy for 12 months of the year could also benefit rental investors, as tourists would be among their main customers.

This comes after Saga Holidays found that Italy was the most popular holiday destination in Europe with people from the UK.
