Holidaymakers and owners of property in Italy should take advantage of the country's excellent walking routes, a travel specialist suggests.
Anita Iaconangelo, founder and chief tour guide of Italian Connection, claims all regions of the country are well-served with iconic walking tours.
She says that Leonardo and Michelangelo art trails above the city of Florence provide ample opportunities for people to visit celebrated museums and see the locations of famous sketches.
Meanwhile, Mount Etna is also said to be a popular hiking route among tourists.
Ms Iaconangelo suggests the active volcano offers excellent views across to the Calabria region on a clear day.
Finally, the guide recommends Capri as the perfect location for walking tours of Roman villas.
The island boasts a number of ancient artefacts, including the remains of Emperor Tiberius's former pleasure palace.
Founded in 1993, Italian Connection offers personalised guided tours of Italy's historical regions.
