Holidays 'improve work productivity'

UK employees should take regular trips away from their place of work in order to relax and boost their productivity, a travel firm claims.

New findings from Expedia.co.uk show that 60 per cent of Brits will take their full holiday entitlement from work this year.

Of those polled, 45 per cent claim to feel rejuvenated and rested following a break.

Jonathan Cudworth, head of product marketing at Expedia.co.uk, says destinations closer to home are proving popular among Brits looking for regular getaways.

He commented: "Holidays are very important for a happy and productive workplace."

With many people opting to invest in timeshare property in Spain and other European nations, a separate study by the travel group On the Beach suggests few people are willing to give travel up despite the economic climate.

The report finds that only 36 per cent of Brits are planning to downgrade their holiday accommodation expenditure this year.ADNFCR-1210-ID-19138126-ADNFCR
