Malaga 'third most popular' May Day destination

Increasing numbers of May Day tourists are heading to Malaga in a bid to find sea and sun, a new study shows.

Data from the flight search engine Skyscanner suggests Malaga will see improved numbers of tourists this year as Brits seek to take advantage of its relaxing way of life.

Gareth Williams, chief executive officer of Skyscanner, says that London is the only UK destination in the company's top ten list of May Day bank holiday hotspots.

He commented: "Skyscanner's data clearly shows that people aren't being put off the eurozone."

Three other Spanish destinations feature in the poll, with Barcelona, Alicante and Palma proving popular among tourists looking to rent property in the country.

Malaga recently hosted its 12th annual Spanish Film Festival, with Antonio Banderas appearing as a guest of honour.ADNFCR-1210-ID-19136459-ADNFCR
