TV property star advises Lincoln residents on the perfect home abroad

Property expert Martin Roberts, of Homes Under the Hammer, has visited Lincoln to help people in the city find their dream properties abroad.

According to the Lincolnshire Echo, the TV star has spoken of his love for Lincoln before and took time out of his busy filming schedule to visit residents.

He said that there was no better time for people to invest abroad, despite the credit crunch.

Mr Roberts told the newspaper: "There's all sorts of properties Lincoln people can invest in.

"A lot of people have been very badly burned in the past and so people can be quite nervous about it.

"But people can buy parts of properties and make their money back in around ten years," he added.

The presenter hosted a seminar for a Lincoln-based share-based ownership scheme in foreign property.

Meanwhile, Sicily is becoming more popular with investors after the arrival of a host of famous faces, it has been claimed.

According to the Daily Mail, the Italian region has shaken off its negative connotations of the Mafia and is now recognised as an area full of culture and history.
