Friday May 9th , 2008

Aer Arann has started operating its new flights between the Republic of Ireland and Spain.
The airline launched its direct services to Malaga from both Galway and Waterford Airports at the weekend.
This means that leisure travellers in Ireland can enjoy easier and more frequent access to the popular Spanish holiday resort.
As a result, owners of rental accommodation in Malaga could be set to experience greater demand from tourists during the coming months.
Garry Cullen, managing director of Aer Arann, commented: "Spain [is a] popular destination for Irish sun-seekers."
Meanwhile, Graham Doyle of Waterford Airport stated that the new flights have "greatly widened" the network of travel for people who live close by.
This comes after Aer Arann revealed that it carried almost 20,000 passengers over the recent bank holiday weekend.
According to the airline, Malaga was one of the most popular destinations during this period.
