British families head for Spain
Wednesday August 6th , 2008

Many families from the UK are choosing to take their holidays in Spain, an expert has revealed.
Elizabeth Young, editor of the Travel for Kids guide, highlighted the country as one of the most popular destinations for British tourists.
Families in particular were said to favour taking breaks in Spain, as it is inexpensive to reach and fairly convenient.
Indeed, Ms Young stated that the country is so easy to get to that many find flying there more straightforward than driving to another part of Britain.
She commented: "With inexpensive airlines, families can plan a weekend [abroad] more easily than having than having to drive to the beach in the UK."
Ms Young was speaking after a study found that British children are more familiar with foreign holiday resorts than seaside towns such as Blackpool and Brighton.
More than half of five to 12-year-olds from the UK were said to have been to Spain.
