British investors move into Spanish market

Spain is becoming an increasingly popular alternative to the domestic market for British property investors, an expert has said.
According to Paul Collins of BuyAssociation, the country has attracted huge interest from UK-based buyers during the last five years.
He cited the high price of property in the UK as one of the main factors behind this trend, along with the potential for capital growth in Spain during this period.
However, he stated that the country is now attracting more lifestyle buyers rather than property investors, as the physical and cultural attractions of Spain are also in demand.
Mr Collins commented: "The Spanish community and lifestyle is really easy to get into - people enjoy the relaxed state of life."
He added that Spanish towns and cities are more community-focused than places in the UK, therefore allowing Britons the opportunity to "get involved".
A recent report by Holiday-Rentals revealed that 28 per cent of British-owned holiday homes abroad are located in Spain.
