Britons spend summer break in Spain
Friday August 8th , 2008

Owners of rental accommodation in Spain will be likely to see high demand for their services this summer.
According to travel agency On the Beach, the country has attracted a large number of bookings in the last week.
Spain was said to be the favoured choice of almost half its customers in Scotland, as 41 per cent plan to visit it this summer.
Meanwhile, figures showed that a similar proportion of people in the Midlands also plan to take their break there.
Simon Cooper, chief executive of On the Beach, has welcomed this development, as it shows that tourism is not being hit by the credit crunch.
"Many of our customers are not willing to give up their hard earned holidays," he commented.
Mr Cooper added that people are, however, looking for places which offer the best value for money.
According to a recent survey by ebookers, nearly nine in ten British people consider a foreign holiday a necessity.
