Foreign property exhibition is a success

Thousands of people in the north-west of England have expressed interest in buying a foreign property abroad, according to new figures.
Brooklands Group, organiser of the A Place in the Sun Live event, revealed that the recent exhibition in Manchester attracted more than 8,000 visitors.
The organisation also calculated the prospective buyers were willing to spend £147,000 on average.
Darren Styles, chief executive of Brooklands, cited this as an example of how the market has remained strong in the face of worldwide economic problems.
He commented: "Some industry commentators will tell you the credit crunch and a fear of recession have chilled the market to a standstill - not so."
Mr Styles added that the success of the Manchester event is a "fantastic start" to this year's programme of events, which includes an exhibition in London next month.
Spain was recently identified as the most popular location among British property buyers by A Place in the Sun magazine.
