Immigration concerns 'drive people abroad'

Concerns over immigration in the UK have prompted many Britons to move abroad, according to an expert.

Paul Arthur, director of The Emigration Group, stated that some expatriates had chosen to leave because they were unhappy with the influx of foreign migrants.

Speaking to the Southport Visiter, he added that issues such as crime and the rate of taxation had also played a part in motivating people to move overseas.

Mr Arthur commented: "Many of the clients I advise are basically looking for a better life both for themselves and their children and they see emigration as a way of achieving this."

This comes at the same time as new research from HSBC revealed that people could enjoy lower living costs by moving abroad.

The study by the high street bank found that a typical annual salary in the UK would last for 15 months in Spain.
