Scottish foreign property investors will be pleased to hear that it will be easier than ever to fly to their holiday homes with a new announcement from Ryanair.
The airline is to make Edinburgh Airport its 27th European base with the addition of 17 new services.
Those with holiday homes in Spain will be able to benefit from three flights a week between Edinburgh and Palma and four a week to Malaga as of September.
"Our 19 routes will deliver significant economic benefits for Edinburgh by capitalising on Scotland's huge tourism potential and making it cheaper and easier than ever before to get here," remarked Sean Coyle, the airline's scheduled revenue director.
Official government data revealed that 2.8 million people visited Spain during January 2008, reports Thomson Financial.
These figures represent a 0.9 per cent increase on January 2007 and prompted the news source to claim that those with property in Spain will be able to benefit from increased demand and rental yields this year.
