Murcia airport construction to start this year
Wednesday February 27th , 2008

Corvera in the Murcian region of Spain will see construction start on a new international airport later this year.
The hub will have three access roads - two from north an one from the south - and will be able to deal with 1.5 million passengers, according to Jose Ballesta, regional councillor for public works, housing and transport in Murcia.
Typically Spanish reports that Mr Ballesta gave details about the airport's construction at a press conference last week.
Increased access to Murcia may have an indirect influence on those who have property in Spain, as a possible hike in tourists may bring more investment interest into the area.
Huelva in Andalucia will also have a new international airport by 2012 if current plans are followed through.
The Telegraph reports that a new airport in the city "may ... stop [it] from remaining Andalucia's lost corner".
