New flights to Spain set to launch
Wednesday April 30th , 2008

Leisure travellers in the UK are set to benefit from extra flights to Spain, it has been confirmed.
Budget airline easyJet has announced that it will begin operating a service between Manchester and Alicante in September.
According to the carrier, the Spanish resort is one of the country's most popular tourist destinations, particularly for families and those who are taking mini-breaks abroad.
As a result, it expects to carry about 60,000 passengers on this route during its first 12 months - a development which suggests demand for rental accommodation in Alicante could increase over this period.
Carly Brear, UK commercial manager at the airline, commented: "Alicante has proven to be a popular destination from other easyJet bases in the UK.
"Now independent travellers from the north-west can take advantage of this new service from our Manchester base."
This comes after the news that direct flights between Norwich International Airport and Alicante are to be reintroduced this summer.
The service, which will be operated by LTE International Airways, means that consumers in Norfolk will no longer have to travel to London in order to fly out to Alicante.
