Norwich to Alicante flights set to resume

Consumers in East Anglia are set to benefit from improved access to Spain, an aviation official has revealed.

Flights between Norwich International Airport and Alicante were controversially axed last summer by Flybe.

However, airport director Richard Jenner has said that an as-yet undisclosed airline will take over the route soon.

This means that consumers in Norfolk can once again enjoy direct flights to Alicante, a development which could boost tourism in the region.

As a result, the market could become much more attractive to overseas property buyers who are looking to invest in rental accommodation.

Commenting on the move, Mr Jenner said: "The formal launch will happen on Friday, but I can confirm our announcement will definitely include new flights to Alicante."

Speaking to the Norwich Evening News, he added that getting this route operational again is a "big thing" for the airport.

This comes after travel portal Cielo stated that more and more people from the UK are currently opting to spend their leisure time in Spain.
