Spain attracts British families

Spain is proving to be a particularly popular destination for British families, a new poll has found.

According to research by MyChild.co.uk, the European country is the top destination for parents and children who are heading abroad this year.

This is despite the fact that many consumers are experiencing financial constraints as a result of the credit crunch and weak pound.

In fact, more than nine out of ten respondents said they are not going to be put off a foreign holiday by the continuing economic crisis.

Commenting on the findings, Denise Roberts of MyChild.co.uk said they show the importance parents place on spending quality time with their children.

She observed: "Families are increasingly seeing the family holiday break as a necessity rather than a luxury."

Consumers will by heartened by the fact that Spain is currently the cheapest country in the eurozone.

According to the Post Office, the cost of general expenses is much lower than in places such as France.
