Spain attracts Yorkshire tourists
Monday April 7th , 2008

Consumers in Yorkshire are increasingly choosing to take their holidays in Spain, new figures have revealed.
According to Robin Hood Airport, direct flights to Alicante attracted the most demand from passengers last month.
Meanwhile, services to Malaga were found to be the fourth-most popular route from the Doncaster-based transport hub, just ahead of Tenerife.
This indicates that Spain is still a very appealing location among people living within the airport's sphere of influence, such as Yorkshire, Humberside and Lincolnshire.
Robin Hood Airport stated that the overall number of people who passed through its doors last month was 12.6 per cent up on March 2007.
Hugh Lang from Peel Airports praised this development, saying: "A year-on-year passenger increase of over 12 per cent is something to be very proud of."
This comes shortly after British Airways confirmed that it will soon be offering new flights from Gatwick Airport to Malaga, Alicante and Palma.
