Spain recommended to investors

Overseas property buyers have been encouraged to consider purchasing a residence in Spain.

The country was praised by ShelterOffshore.com, which described it as an "incredibly attractive" country in which to invest.

According to the website, Spain has many positive features including good transport links from overseas.

The online portal added that the internal transport network is also very good, which means it is possible to travel between different parts of the country "affordably and swiftly".

However, ShelterOffshore.com did go on to highlight the recent slowdown in the Spanish property market.

The website said that although it may be a few years before there is any substantial increase in a property's value, the continuing growth means it still offers the potential to generate good returns for investors.

According to Holiday-Rentals, Spain is currently one of the most popular locations among overseas investors in the UK.

The organisation recently revealed that almost a third of European properties owned by British buyers are in the country.
