Spain sizzles in winter sunshine

Several parts of Spain are currently enjoying a mini-heatwave, according to a media report.

ThinkSpain stated that areas including Alicante and Murcia were basking in winter sun, leading many to spend the day on the beach.

Midday temperatures were said to have risen to more than 20 degrees C over the weekend, with forecasters predicting that the weather would last through the week.

This has enabled people to take full opportunity of the good weather by indulging in outdoor activities such as sunbathing.

The media outlet added that Malaga had also experienced similar conditions during the week, with temperatures also crossing the 20-degree mark.

Spain's good weather has frequently been cited as one of the main reasons for its popularity with Britons.

According to the Post Office, the country is set to attract almost a fifth of those who are choosing to spend Christmas Day overseas.
