Spain 'still offers good value'

Tourists from the UK could still find Spain a good-value holiday destination, according to one travel firm.
Barrhead Travel stated that the cost of living in the European country is much lower than in the UK.
This means that while costs are up as a result of the strong euro, they are still below those at home.
Bill Munro, spokesperson for Barrhead Travel, added that the rising cost of living in the UK is not putting people off booking holidays abroad.
Speaking to the Daily Record, he said the strong euro has not dented the appeal of Spain.
Mr Munro commented: "Some are shying away from Euroland and going to countries based on price, but many know that for quality Spain is still number one."
He added that the number of holiday bookings during the year to date is eight per cent up on the same period of 2007.
Although the pound is at a record low against the euro, the Post Office recently revealed that Spain is actually the cheapest country in the eurozone at the moment.
