Spain to attract Easter holidaymakers

Spain is likely to be a highly popular destination among Britons heading abroad this Easter, an airline has stated.

Budget carrier easyJet highlighted Malaga and Alicante as two of the main hotspots for holidaymakers from the UK.

The company said the two locations are ideal for family holidays, especially as they are currently enjoying favourable weather conditions.

Marianne West, PR executive at easyJet commented: "With so many new routes recently launched from its London airports, there’s a perfect holiday destination just waiting for you to explore."

The airline added that it is preparing to transport about half a million people overseas during the Easter holiday season.

According to estimates from the firm, most of these are likely to fly out of London-based airports, including Stansted and Gatwick.

Easter Sunday is on March 23rd this year - the earliest calendar date it has fallen on since 1913.
