Sunseekers advised to visit Spain

British people who want some respite from the poor weather at home have been advised to visit Spain.
Jonathan Powell, senior forecaster at Positive Weather Solutions, said southern Europe would be the ideal destination for holidaymakers who are in search of some summer sun.
He stated that they would be unlikely to find it in the UK, as the summer weather has again been relatively poor in comparison with other parts of the continent.
Indeed, he said it looks as if it will be just as unsettled as this time last year, when many parts of the UK were lashed by torrential downpours.
Mr Powell commented: "If you're looking for hot, dry and sunny weather in Europe, my best bet would be Spain."
However, he urged people to remember that the heat is likely to be more intense in more southern areas.
This comes after Mondial Assistance revealed that nearly one in three British tourists are planning to spend this year's summer holiday in Spain.
