People who book holidays to places such as Spain are increasingly likely to pay for it online, experts have revealed.
According to Travelsupermarket.com, consumers generally find it much easier to research and purchase their trip on the internet.
Using the web was said to be more convenient than going to a high street travel agent, as all the relevant information is immediately to hand.
The price comparison website added that people can easily look at the whole market online in order to find the best deal.
Kayte Williams, holidays manager at Travelsupermarket.com, believes the popularity of online booking will continue to increase.
She commented: "As more and more people become comfortable with making large purchases online there's a definite trend in growth in that area."
Meanwhile, Google Spain has revealed that almost a third of all the trips to Spain during the year date were purchased on the internet.
