Visiting Spain 'may cure winter blues'
Friday January 25th , 2008

Post-Christmas depression could be overcome by booking a trip to Spain as soon as possible, according to an Irish newspaper.
The country was one of the destinations recommended by the Kilkenny Advertiser as a place that people could look forward to visiting between now and summer.
This sense of anticipation was said to have the potential to lift spirits during the "wet and dreary" winter, as people could get excited about heading to the sun.
"January is notorious for the onslaught of winter blues and one of the best ways of dealing with the condition is to book a holiday," the newspaper commented.
Readers were also advised that looking forward to a trip to Spain could also help calm the onset of Seasonal Affected Disorder, a condition commonly associated with a lack of sunshine.
This comes after the Meath Chronicle revealed that people in Ireland are much less willing to risk missing out on a late bargain and are booking their summer holidays now.
