Buying a property in Turkey? Read this clients story

Why did you choose Turkey ?
We’d never been to Turkey before but we had a late availability holiday there last December and really liked what we saw.
We had planned on buying a property in Spain but when Glen saw the golf clubs in Belek, it definitely warranted another look. We liked the atmosphere there, it felt comfortable and in a weird way it didn’t feel like we were on holiday. The people were so lovely and we knew almost instantly that this was the place for us.
What you get for your money in Turkey is amazing and the quality is excellent. Obviously the golf is a big draw but the beaches there are lovely too and we’ve chosen to buy in a place that’s near the golf courses and just round the corner from the beach.
We’ll be just 10 – 15 minutes away from amazing historical sights, football, tennis, horse riding, white water rafting and loads of other water sports.
I’d say that there’s something here for all ages. We’ve two sons, one aged 11 and a 21 year old. There’s enough going on here for both of them - lots of sports activities on our doorstep and a great nightlife only 20 minutes away. Flights are affordable and I think it’s safe to say that it won’t be long before there are more low cost flights to the country.
How did MASA help?
As soon as we got home we rang MASA and they got in touch with their partner building company and we went back to find out more on an Inspection Trip in February. Martin showed us around and we met the builders who were fantastic people, really down to earth.
MASA had obviously done their homework well and they couldn’t have chosen better developers. Everything we needed to know was answered, we met other people who had already bought in the area who showed us round and told us exactly how it had been for them – nothing was hidden.
We’d been on an Inspection trip to Spain with another company last year and it was a real hard sell but the MASA trip was the opposite, no pressure and we had time to see and do everything we wanted. The MASA people are like our first friends in Turkey, they can’t do enough for us.
Did your choice of property meet your expectations?
We originally intended to buy an apartment, but found we could afford to
buy a larger villa instead for just a few thousand more. We chose a four bed villa at Fairway and the
President of the building company himself met us at the site; he made some
suggestions about adaptations we might need to make the villa and grounds
wheelchair friendly, which we will need at some point in the future.
All these changes, widening doors and paths and fitting ramps, are all
being done at no extra cost to us. He
took on board all our needs and did more than we could have hoped for. We later found out that he has a son who uses
a wheelchair, which explains how he knew so much.
It was all very honest and open - we were allowed to look around the whole development and saw villas and apartments at all stages of development and again, nothing was hidden.
We could see the quality of the workmanship, how sturdy and solid the buildings are and we couldn’t fault the level of customer care, which was superb from MASA.
We can definitely recommend Turkey and MASA. It has all gone so smoothly, it’s hard to believe. Our villa is now being built and we are regularly sent photographs of its development. We fly out on the 13th July to furnish it and we can’t wait.
