Airport sees high demand for Turkish flights
Tuesday July 29th , 2008

A British airport has revealed that flights to Turkey have been in high demand in recent months.
More than 560,000 passengers used East Midlands Airport (EMA) in June 2008 - five per cent more than during the same period of 2007.
This increase was said to be fuelled by a 17 per cent increase in the number of people flying to non-EU destinations such as Turkey.
According to EMA, the European country has been very popular with leisure travellers this year because it offers relatively low costs.
"More and more holidaymakers are choosing to jet abroad to more value-for-money destinations outside the eurozone," it commented.
This comes after the Association of British Travel Agents reported a surge in the popularity of holidays in Turkey this summer.
According to the organisation, the number of bookings has gone up by a fifth in the last year.
