Bodrum Turkbuku to benefit from new marina

The town of Bodrum Turkbuku is set to benefit from a new marina which could help boost tourism in the region.

People with property in Turkey are likely to welcome the news of the $30 million (£21 million) 600-yacht marina.

Speaking to Hurriyet News about the plans, mayor Ibrahim Kaynar said: "Turkbuku is a popular place for many important names from the art, sport and business industries. When this project, which will be conducted to European standards, is completed, the tour district will gain more importance."

Work on the new marina, which will be the region's fourth, is set to take two years and will begin as soon as a license is granted by the Ministry of Public works.

Earlier this month, it was reported by Didim Today that Altinkum Yacht Marina will be opened in May.

It is hoped the $50 million, 1,000-yacht marina will help boost tourism in the region.
