A couple from Scotland have bagged themselves a property bargain, picking up a three-bedroom house in Turkey for £45,000.
James and Linda Flannagan from East Kilbride secured the house which boasts three bedrooms, a balcony and a rooftop solarium - in Didim near Bodrum.
Mr Flannagan said he was unaware that the country's holiday homes market offered such opportunities.
"We couldn't believe how much property you get for your money in Turkey," he told the Sunday Mail.
He added that the weather is "fabulous", while the locals are always friendly and both the beaches and inland countryside inland are picturesque.
Julian Walker, a spokesman for Spot Blue - a specialist in Turkish property - recently claimed that the country is currently one of the best destinations for those looking to invest in overseas property.
"Turkey is one of the few logical choices for those seeking to balance lifestyle and financial advantage in their retirement," he remarked.
