Growing tourism boosts Turkish market

Turkey is currently benefiting from significant investment in popular tourist destinations, according to an expert.

Property author Dominic Whiting said the government is putting funds into the main holiday hotspots in order to make them more desirable locations.

As well as enhancing their appeal to prospective holidaymakers, this is also making it more attractive to foreign property buyers, as house prices are being pushed upwards.

Therefore, investors who enter the market ahead of the main period of price appreciation could find their purchase is worth much more within a fairly short space of time.

Mr Whiting commented: "I predict price rises of at least 15 per cent per annum over the next few years."

He added that in some parts of the country, the size of the increases could be "considerably higher".

This comes after ShelterOffshore.com said Turkey offers far more affordable property values than the UK, along with good-quality infrastructure and amenities.
