Investors in Turkey to benefit from economic slowdown
Friday April 11th , 2008

Ongoing economic problems across the world could prove to be beneficial to owners of rental accommodation in Turkey.
According to the Post Office, there has been a 15 per cent increase in sales for Turkish currency among British consumers.
This is because the pound has fallen significantly in value over the last few months and is now at a record low against the euro.
As a result, many people are choosing to visit countries which are not part of the single European currency.
Helen Warburton, head of travel at the Post Office, told the Daily Mail: "Consumers going into Europe are looking at much higher costs.
"People are looking for destinations where their holiday money will go further."
This trend is also likely to be welcomed by the Turkish government, which is very keen to attract more visitors to the country.
According to official data, 23.5 million foreign leisure travellers visited Turkey last year.
This figure is expected to increase to 27 million in 2008.
