Scots couple 'pleased with Turkish investment'

A detached villa on the outskirts of Oludeniz has proven to be the perfect property in Turkey for Margaret and Tony Merriman, reports the Sunday Mail.

The newpaper has told the story of the couple from East Lothian who ended their search for a property abroad on the west coast of Turkey, with a property they regard as a "home from home".

Mr Merriman explained: "We love the place and we try to visit three or four times a year. It's first and foremost a holiday home but also a great investment."

The property was bought for £130,000 five years ago and is now rented out when the family are not staying there on one of their trips to the area.

However, the couple are considering living in Turkey for half the year as well as investing in land with the potential to build other property.

Oludeniz is known for its sailing and beaches, situated near the airport at Dalaman - which is 54 km away - and close to Hisaronu and Ovacik.
