Turkey attracts British holidaymakers

Turkey's tourist industry looks set to benefit from the strength of the euro against the pound.
According to travel website Expedia, a growing number of people in the UK are looking to take holidays in the country this summer.
This is because the pound has lost about 18 per cent of its value against the single European currency in the last year.
As a result, British consumers are finding that their money is not going as far in countries such as France, Italy and Portugal.
Therefore, many are opting for alternative locations which offer more favourable exchange rates and better value for money.
Dermot Halpin, president of Expedia in Europe, told Reuters: "Demand is definitely shifting.
"Destinations outside the eurozone which are mid-haul rather than long-haul, such as Turkey, are on the up."
According to data from the Turkish tourism ministry, the country attracted 7.3 million visitors between January and May 2008, reports Hurriyet.
