Turkey attracts foreign property buyers

Turkey is becoming an increasingly popular location among overseas property buyers, an expert has revealed.

Rhiannon Williamson of ShelterOffshore.com stated that the country is attracting attention from foreign investors because of its affordable property prices and growing tourist trade, reports 999 Today.

This was said to be driving up demand for properties such as holiday homes across Turkey, which in turn is leading to a surge in property values.

As a result, Turkey could be an ideal destination for people who plan to buy specifically for investment purposes, as it means they could potentially get strong returns if they sell up at some point in the future.

Ms Williamson commented: "With greater demand for property for sale, a profitable resale is much more likely."

She added that the country's government had imposed planning restrictions in order to preserve the authenticity of areas such as the Bodrum peninsula and to stop them becoming overdeveloped.

According to the UN World Tourism Organisation, visitor numbers in Turkey went up by 18 per cent last year.
