Turkey attracts foreign investors despite global economic problems

The downturn in the global economy is not putting investors off entering the Turkish market, it has been revealed.

According to Moneycorp, the south-east European country is continuing to attract a high level of interest from investors in places such as the UK.

This is despite the fact that many Britons are currently struggling to cope with a number of economic problems, such as rising living and fuel costs, as well as the global credit crunch.

Although this has been widely blamed for affecting demand for property in some countries, Moneycorp believes that Turkey is weathering the economic storm very well.

Spokesperson Marc Morley-Freer commented: "The global property market as a whole has seen a downturn over the past six months.

"However, we are still receiving a high level of enquiries relating to buying property in emerging markets like Turkey."

This comes after ShelterOffshore.com said Turkey offers far more affordable property values than the UK.

The country was also praised for some of its other attractions, including its good-quality infrastructure, amenities and climate.
