Turkey's tourist industry is enjoying a boom, with the number of visitors to the nation rising in the last year, it has been claimed.
The amount of holidaymakers deciding to take a break in the country has risen by 23 per cent this year, reports Today's Zaman.
Volkan Simsek, president of the Turkish Professional Hotel Managers Assembly, commented: "By the end of this year the number of the tourists visiting Turkey will be nine million, which means a 1.4 million increase compared to last year."
He added that the domestic tourist industry is also being focussed on by hotel owners, who are looking to boost the numbers who are coming through their doors.
The growth in the tourist trade in Turkey could make buying a property in a popular holiday region a profitable venture for overseas investors.
An expert at Property Wire recently stated that despite price hikes of up to 40 per cent in some areas of Turkey, the cost of property is still relatively low and bargains can still be found.
