Turkey 'has broad appeal'
Monday July 28th , 2008

The wide variety of attractions in Turkey has been highlighted by its government, which has said different nationalities want to experience diverse aspects of the country.
According to the culture and tourism ministry, the European nation appeals to the various tastes and expectations of people from across the world, Today's Zaman reports.
For example, visitors from the US were found to favour the country's historical and cultural attractions, in particular locations of religious significance.
Meanwhile, holidaymakers from Germany came to experience Turkey's warm seas, good beaches and cuisine.
The government added that low tour prices were one of the main attractions for Russian visitors, along with its discos and water parks.
Commenting on the findings, Today's Zaman observed: "The 23.3 million tourists who came to Turkey last year had different reasons for choosing the country as their holiday destination."
This comes after Lastminute.com and the Association of British Travel Agents reported a surge in the popularity of Turkey among UK holidaymakers this summer.
